Our Story

NOK NOK is a Thai restaurant in the Old Town of Tallinn, with a menu and atmosphere which represents an authentic Thai cuisine experience.

The restaurant prepares and serves the most authentic Thai dishes. The word NOK stands for “bird” in the Thai language, and the NOK NOK name also refers to the restaurant logo depicting two owls. The owls, in turn, represent the bas-reliefs on the outer walls of the restaurant building at Vana-Posti 7, directly opposite the Sõprus cinema. In almost all Thai dishes, four flavours meet:sweet, sour, spicy and salty. The balance between them has sometimes been compared to a chess game, which must be practiced and learned for a long time to reach perfection. “The dishes that we make here are typical of the home or street food of an average Thai family. Although we eat it every day, it never gets boring,” the team of NOK NOK says, summarising the phenomenon of Thai cuisine. Head chef Khampan Pukdangpan is responsible for the authenticity of NOK NOK’s flavours. In the restaurant, with its combination of Eastern and Nordic interior design, the most authentic Thai dishes are prepared under his professional guidance in a manner and style that is traditional for the people of Thailand. Opened in the spring of 2017, the 600 square meter restaurant accommodates a cozy cocktail bar, an à la carte restaurant, and halls for private events. There is aThai cooking schoolwith a modern kitchen on the second floor of the restaurant, where everyone can learn about the specialties of Thai cuisine under the guidance of chefs. The cooking school can accommodate about 20 people. In addition, NOK NOK also offers the opportunity for you to organizeseminars or meetingsfor about 24 people in a spacious and well-equipped room.
