Mantel ja Korsten offers a menu inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, presented with a local Estonian twist by our chefs. Our first ambition was to create a community-focused restaurant where people can enjoy dishes prepared by top chefs, whether at the end of a workday or as a special weekend treat. Initially, people are drawn to us by our very, very good menu and the unique experience of our special location. The Mediterranean cuisine, introduced in a simple Estonian style by our young yet experienced chefs Jüri Vainküla and Jürgen Põldoja, is more nuanced than one might think – after all, there are many countries with diverse food cultures along the Mediterranean. The menu at Mantel ja Korsten is indeed diverse. In addition to seafood and a wide variety of pasta dishes, the restaurant offers Iberico secreto, monkfish, and the already famous hanger steak of beef. The chef's creations also include dishes that might push the average diner out of their comfort zone a bit. Everything from the food, carefully selected wines from small producers, increasingly trendy non-alcoholic drinks, attentive service, and the atmosphere is maintained at a level that ensures every guest enjoys every moment spent in the only house with a chimney in the area. In this three-hundred-year-old building, the story of the nearby Kadriorg Palace and Park, the modern suburban atmosphere, and world-class culinary art come together.
