Restaurant Laivakoira is a newly opened restaurant by the trio Rico Aaltonen, Aura Vanhanen, and Kim Kaplas — all three coming from Helsinki's top-tier restaurants.

The team has created an ambiance that’s fun and playful, but serious when it comes to what’s on the plates and in the glasses. The focus is on affordable robust, bold, and exciting new wave dishes, complemented by an extensive selection of wines ranging from classic and elegant to experimental, also available by the glass. The restaurant"Laivis"is located in Helsinki's Eira district, where we aim to create wonderful moments with warm service and excellent food. We are inspired by classic cuisine and fine wine, but we add a playful, modern twist with bold flavors and a whimsical atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Our low-threshold restaurant is made up of close friends and top professionals in the restaurant industry, all sharing the same philosophy: to cook and serve wine purely for enjoyment, without compromises, rules, or pretension. You can enjoy a festive long-course meal with us or drop by for a more casual dining experience. We always offer an a la carte menu, from which you can choose according to your schedule and taste, and there is also a 4-course set menu that you can complement with additional dishes of your choice.
